Mancala is a generic name for a family of two-player turn-based strategy board games played with small stones, beans, or seeds and rows of holes or pits in the earth, a board or other playing surface. The objective is usually to capture all or some set of the opponent's pieces. Southeast Asian mancalas are a subtype of mancala games predominantly found in Southeast Asia. They are known as congka or congklak in Indonesia, congkak in Malaysia and Brunei, and sungkâ in the Philippines. Like other mancalas, they vary widely in terms of the rules and number of holes used.

PLAYING INSTRUCTIONS :
Set Up the Game
Put the game board lengthwise between two players. Each player own the seven pits nearest them and a Store (end pit/largest pit) to their right.

The Game
Each player's score is the number of seeds in their store holes. Seeds are placed in each small hole except for the players' Store. The objective of the game is to capture more seeds in the Store than one's opponent.

Always move counter-clockwise. Take all stones from any one of your pits. Starting to the right of this pit, put one stone in each pit until all the stones are gone. Whenever you come to your own store, put a stone in. However, never put a stone in your opponent’s store --- always skip it.

Ending the Game
The game is over when one player’s pits are completely empty. The other player takes the seeds remaining in her pits and puts those seeds in her store. Count up the seeds. Whoever has the most seeds wins.
